While on my way back from Abhaneri’s Chand Boari, we heard that there is a region Dopur, which has 60-80 meter sand dunes. Yep, sand dunes which are just 45 km from Jaipur.
My 1st reaction was to check Google map for Dopur, as I haven’t heard about this villages, and I saw this.
And now I have evidence that there are sand dunes here and thus, I decided to stop here as I was heading back to Jaipur from Abhaneri.
From Jaipur-Agra Highway I turned right (while driving towards Jaipur) from Banskho train station and then drove 10 km through villages.
Road here is just OK, not ideal but the prize of seeing desert dunes near Jaipur would make these roads as smooth as the national highway for me.
On my way towards these dunes, I noticed three checkpoints which I have named as
The Twin mountains
The desert sand aside road
And a small village
And finally a view of desert dunes near Jaipur, which no one named. Yep, this is the very 1st article on the net about sand dunes near Jaipur, no one has even named these dunes.
So I gave them a name. I call them Chhabra sand dunes near Jaipur. Have a look….
To view the complete dune area or Chhabra sand dunes area, just view the next three images which will give you a right perspective on how big these dunes are.
How to reach Chhabra sand dunes
- Distance from Jaipur is 45 km and the best time to visit these dunes is either early morning or evening time.
- One need to take Jaipur-Agra highway route and then turn left from Banskho train station (small one)
So with that, do visit Chhabra sand dune if you are in Jaipur.
This looks like a cool place. I visited Jaipur last year but was unimpressed as it was very touristy. I wish id know about this place.
